Thanks Jay!
For curiosity sake, is it possible to swap the original chip to a used module?
The original doesn't turn all the way to starting point. It clicks twice and stops. (Won't let the key go any further to actually start the engine cranking).

I have a 1998 E300 ignition module. Which chip is the target chip to read on these? I believe it is a 210 version.
Original won't turn. Got a used one to try and adapt.
Thinking about purchasing the MBE and SMOK to do this.

I swapped the chip but it didn't work:) I was going to swap the other chip but figured I spent more time than I needed to. I think I'm getting much better with my soldering skills though. Lots of little tricks, and many more proper soldering tools/supplies have been helpful. Using an electronic microscope to check my connections, really pays off.
My next option is to purchase what I need to reprogram.
Any suggestions on the best software for this? I have the Autel im608 pro with xp400, but don't think it has the capability. In the specs it had all but the W206 mentioned.
Tango/TMPro only work with programming the keys in. Both said they don't go in to modules much. I have Abrites but not the Mercedes stuff.
Thanks for the help!
