  1. Does anybody know if a vin rewrite is possible on this model? The original module is physically damaged and the shop could only find a used part. I know I could flash a new part with TIS, but it is unclear if TIS would work on a used part. The autel coverage documentation is unclear, and I can't get through to their tech support. It doesn't look like jumping 4 and 13 works on this system. I can't find an eeprom diagram either, although I'd rather not go that route. Part number is 89661-0RB10

  2. Thanks for the suggestions, but they didn't help.

It turns out my Autel pass through was malfunctioning. Fords of this era need to see 18V at pin 13 of the DLC to initiate programming. I hooked up a breakout box and checked to voltage. I was only getting 6.5. I got a new device and it put out 17 and programming went through.  It's odd because the Autel works fine except for this issue.

  3. Anybody else having problems programing Ford PCMs this week? I've failed on 3 different vehicles. This is with version 124. I can read DTCs, go through the VIN check process, and see the message for the current and new available calibration. After the key on / off messages the program says it can't communicate with the module check, the connections. Sometimes it says a different module has the incorrect vin, which isn't accurate. This happens with both module reprogramming and PMI. I've tried reinstalling the program and drivers, different USB cables, 2 different laptops, and a Maxisys pass through as well as a Tactrix cable. The vehicles were all running and one was my work van. There is not much left in the system to swap out.

  4. This car came through the auction and was at a body shop, so there isn't any history. The cluster didn't show the mileage, and there was a B3902 code - Incorrect immobilizer identifier -in the IPC. If you see this, most likely a used cluster was installed. Reprogramming the keys won't clear the code.  It's a Global A vehicle and a used parts don't play well. The vin in the cluster didn't match the rest of the car. Oddly there were no other codes and the car worked fine in all other aspects.
